The GoldenTyre GT280 Jacky Tsunami was developed in cooperation with former Motocross World Champion Jacky Martens, which is also where the unique "Jacky Tsunami" name comes from. Years of testing and development in the sand tracks of Europe with Martens (who won 2 consecutive FIM 500cc World Motocross Championships) are what make the GT280 the ultimate sand and mud terrain tyre.

The GoldenTyre GT280 features a shovel-shaped knob design that also facilitates the expulsion of sand / mud while using unique angles in the knobs to offer superior braking traction and steering feel.

Although it is a sand tyre, Europe's not so brilliant weather means a lot of development has also been done in wet sand and mud like conditions. It was these properties of the GT280 that saw the Australian KTM Offroad Racing Team use this tyre at the 2016 Hattah desert race. This decision helped team-mates Tye Simmonds and Daniel Sanders pull an unbelievable gap over the rest of the field, finishing 10 minutes ahead of the next fastest competitor. The GT280 on their rear wheel helped drive their machines at top speed through even the deepest sand sections while also being able to maintain top speed through the corners.
